Puffiness and bags under your eyes is one thing you don’t want to have because we feel like it makes us look older and it probably does. I found some natural remedies that will help get rid of these bags under your eyes.
1. Limit the Salt Intake
Get that salt shaker out of your eyes! Don’t have it where you see it. I agree, food can taste really bland without salt but it is just not healthy and certainly makes you get those unwanted bags under your eyes. There are some natural substitutes out there that are really good like Mrs. Dash.
It is a fact that water will always find one way or another from areas of your body that are low on sodium to those areas that have the most of it.
The area around your eyes is a major example of this unwanted phenomenal. That’s the reason why a breakfast and/or dinner full of salt results in this chocking morning-after puffiness.
2. Avoid Drinking Alcohol
Even a few drinks a week can be the reason for constant bags under your eyes.
Research has shown that alcohol is a powerful dehydrating agent. this means that alcohol encourages excretion of water which causes your face and especially the area under your eyes to look dark, sunken, and puffy.
3. Enough Sleep Will Help
In today’s fast living world it’s hard to get enough good, relaxed sleep. Lack of good sleep results in bad health and bags under your eyes.
A good night’s sleep is necessary to reset your body from the hassle and dazzle of the day and will adjust and boost the recovery.
If we don’t get enough sleep the stress hormone cortisol will stay in high gear. Cortisol is a powerful hormone that retains water and gives us that look of fatigue that results in bags under your eyes and gives puffiness.
In general, the recommended time you should sleep per night is 8 hours, but you should just sleep as much as you need to wake up refreshed.
4. Manage Allergies
Allergies usually provoke a histamine response which results in inflammation and water retention. That kind of inflammation affects the whole body, but it doesn’t show except for the runny nose and the bags under your eyes. This means that you need anti-histamines.
Natural anti-histamines are foods that contains Quercetin. Apples and onions have a good amount of quercetin.
Include these foods in your diet and you will naturally control your histamine response to allergies.
5. Drink Enough Water
Water follows its own set of rules. Our body is 75% of water. It has a way of regulating itself. Making sure that your body gets enough water will keep you hydrated to an optimal state and will remove toxins which can put your skin in poor health and makes you bloated.
6. Drink Tea Before Bed-Time
Drinking green tea before bedtime is a super anti-oxidant. It is used all over the world for its health benefits. It is an anti-irritant and has mild diuretic properties that will relieve swelling and bags under your eyes. After drinking the tea chill two used tea bags (no sugar or milk) and apply them under your eyes for about 15 minutes. You will be amazed about the magic.
7. Stop Smoking
Smoking will cause bags under your eyes.
Also, smoking is one of the most powerful drugs that speeds up aging because it deteriorates your skin and promotes loss of collagen.
8. Use Sunscreen To Avoid Bags Under Your Eyes
The sun is good as it gives you the Vitamin D you need so desperately but to much sun is bad. The sun’s rays come as UV rays, which penetrate the skin and damages it during long exposure. Be sure to use sunscreen with a high SPF when spending a longer time outdoors.
9. Rejuvenating Moisturizing Cream
Another thing is to use a moisturizing cream under and above your eyes for the night. I use Juvele Miracle Eye as it moisturizes and relaxes my under-eye skin. I wake up in the mornings with no bags under my eyes. That makes me feel really good!
I really hope that these tips will help you get rid of the bags under your eyes. It helped me!
Let me know how it worked out for you. I am really interested.
